10 BEAUTY PRODUCTS THAT ARE SO GREAT THEY’RE ALMOST MAGICAL

By | Beauty | No Comments
  1. Lash Serum – this one from De Moi is my favourite. If you use it every day for a few weeks you’ll see a big difference after a month. My lashes are not only longer but thicker too. You can also use it on your brows.
  2. Eyebrow Soap – I haven’t tried other brands but this one from Revolution is amazing, less than CHF10 and it really changes how your brows look. It sets the brow hairs in place with it’s natural beeswax formula to create that fluffy look you see all over Instagram.
  3. Dyson Air Wrap – while it is very expensive at almost CHF600, it is indeed magical! I have long hair almost to my waist and it takes me 20 minutes to do my hair with the AirWrap vs. easily an hour to blow dry and style
  4. Silicone Face Mask Brushes – the application is so much smoother and you don’t waste any of the mask sticking to the brush hairs.
  5. Terry Foundation Brush – this is a game changer, no brush marks, smoother application, flawless finish! At Almost CHF60, it’s not cheap but you’ll see where that money went the first time you use it.
  6. Manifix Nail Wraps – a long lasting alternative to Gellack. So easy to apply and so many colour options. My favourite is this one. If you generally prefer a Gel/Gellack manicure like I do then this one is a great option as add on. You can just add it on top in minutes. If you want to give this a try you can book Laura in the Zurich Region, Zug and Aargau.
  7. Dry Shampoo – an old favourite. Can’t beat it when you’re feeling a bit lazy, it’s also brilliant to use before styling your hair, it gives your hair volume and keeps it in place longer. You can get it in darker colours nowadays so you don’t have to worry about a slightly grey parting!
  8. Purple Shampoo – my favourite is L’Oreal Colorvista which really makes your hair beautiful and silvery after only one wash. If I haven’t used it for a while then I leave it in for a couple of minutes to give it a little boost.
  9. Lash Lift Kit – while this products works wonders, I have to say I found it tricky to do it myself and decided to get a professional with fantastic results. Aleksandra did my lashes for me.
  10. Sante Soft Peeling – this literally resurfaces my face…but softly. It’s amazing. I’ve only found it in these small sachets which is a bit annoying but it’s an incredible product.

RESHAPING THE CONTOUR OF THE FACE

By | Beauty, Massage | No Comments

Naturally, as the years go by, the soft and bony tissue of the low
part of the face atrophies, the chin retracts inwards, the cheeks lose
volume and have a drooping appearance. Like the skin, it loses its
elasticity and firm appearance. On the other hand, a defined chin is a
sign of vitality, of youth, and a surplus of fat does not help to
shape the ideal image.

So what does a perfect face contour look like?

While we men want a chiselled look, women want a delicate but
firm-looking chin. In the vision of aesthetic doctors, what their
patients want is to recreate the triangle of perfection: volume in the
upper part of the face and the V shape towards the chin. It is about
the equation of perfection, only that it must be adapted to the
particularities of the face.

How to shrink, reshape and raise the chin and jaw line?

Facial massage
You can try it out with me or do it by yourself at home. It is a wonderful way to relax and have some time with yourself. Well-being, release of endorphins and accelerated blood circulation are among the strengths of this remodelling technique.

With two fingers
Maybe you’ve heard some tips on how to remove makeup or apply face
cream: no chaotic or downward movements, only up and out
and do not rub. All these wrong movements affect the skin more than you
think – if you want a clearer image, take a piece of napkin and make
some fine, then sudden movements on it. However, you do not need to go
to a specialist to enjoy the right face massage. It only takes 10 minutes
a day to reach a desired result. With your index and middle fingers, so that they catch the contour of the chin and pinch lightly, from close to close along the entire length of the mandible, stroke your face from the centre to the ears. Repeat 10 times. These movements will activate blood circulation and tone the muscles of the face contour.

The holistic approach

Remodelling and beautification solutions also come from the holistic
sphere. You need a lot of patience, perseverance and a little courage
to venture on a long-term journey.

Your SPA Specialist,
Andrei Sirbu

You can book a facial with Andrei at home, we highly recommend all of his facials which are suitable for both men and women.

2021 – THE YEAR OF LITTLE BIG WEDDINGS

By | Beauty, Bridal, Fashion, Food for thought, Party | No Comments

With a large numbers of couples postponing their weddings last year, this wedding season is expected to be the biggest we’ve even seen. Even though the COVID-19 regulations are still quite strict, there are some celebrations waiting to be held since last year and we cannot wait any longer. So what is 2021 going to bring us? Fully booked outdoor locations? Guests not coming because of the restrictions? New delays and expectations?

Planning any kind of event now is a real headache! But look at the bright side, now you have a legit excuse to not invite some people you would have “had to”. This year is the perfect opportunity for a small but elegant wedding. Our motto for 2021 is “Less is More“!

Because some couples have been planning to throw a big party for more than a year it might be hard to find a venue for your little celebration, but there are always alternatives. Especially so if you are only allowed to invite up to 15 people.

Our recipe for the perfect wedding is renting a small house somewhere next to a lake and enjoying this moment with your closest friends.

Here’s a list of things you should be looking for to throw the perfect party:

  1. Search for the place with a big enough garden
  2. Make sure the neighbors in that location know what you are planning and will not call the police (this can really happen in Switzerland!)
  3. Do not forget the makeup and hair! Even if it is a small celebration you would still want to look flawless in your wedding pictures.
  4. Order some flowers to decorate as well as your bouquet
  5. Stock up on Champagne and delicious food

We hope this list inspires you to not delay your special day any longer and get down to planning. If you need any help with the third step Glow Concierge is always there to help! For weddings and special occasions our providers can often drive beyond their regions of availability that you can see on the website. So if you are not sure what you need or how to plan it, write us an email and we will organise everything for you! You can also schedule a trial appointment to see which sort of style you want without stressing about it on your big day.

P.S. There’s more about weddings and our services coming on our social media. Subscribe to our Instagram or Facebook channels not to miss it.

POST WINTER SKIN

By | Beauty, Food for thought, Home, Massage | No Comments

We’re all tired of winter and our skin even more so! All combined, the dry cold air, continuous handwashing and sanitizing are just a recipe for disaster.

If being responsible and sanitizing hands in every supermarket has shown on your hands here are some tips that’ll help revive the skin:

1.Scrubbing first. Take off that dry layer of dead skin cells and let the new ones shine. Moisturizing does not often give the effect you’re expecting it to because a big part of what you’re trying to hydrate are dead skin cells.

Buying a body scrub or having a professional scrub your hands and body can help the skin prepare for the creams and lotions you’re about to give it. Full Body Sea Salt Peeling from Caterina is the perfect treatment to shed off your winter skin and massage a complex of refreshing and moisturizing ingredients in.

2. Moisturize, Moisturize, Moisturize… Putting a hand lotion at your sink or using some body milk after the shower can really change the way your skin feels. But sometimes we might want something extra, be it a professional hand massage after a manicure or a full body treatment.

Raindrops Massage with 7 Essential Oils from Alexandra is designed to enrich your body with vitamins and relax your soul. It is bringing the body into structural and electrical alignment and makes you feel recharged and ready for summer.

3. Have you forgotten something? When we are wearing closed shoes and socks all the time it is easy to forget about the skin on your feet.

Save yourself the struggle, book the classical pedicure, and we’ll make your feet sexy again.

4. By looking at your face it is easy to estimate the health of your body. And when if not under direct spring sunlight will the bags under your eyes be more visible.

Having a basic facial or a microneedling treatment once a month is the perfect way to maintain your skin bright and shiny.

CHANGES TO YOUR MANICURE ROUTINE OVER THIS PAST YEAR

By | Beauty | No Comments

Two years ago this article would probably discuss the new patterns and nail polishes that are getting the attention of the public. But in the world we are living right now “manicure” has gained a completely different meaning.

During the last year we all have changed something in our beauty routine. Following the salon closures and home-office system many of us faced the challenge of learning how to do some things at home.

Here are some issues you might have encountered doing your nails at home:

  1. Nail Health

It’s easy not to notice your natural nails under a three-layer gel coat. You cover them over and over again until one day after a gorgeous natural nail post you saw somewhere on Instagram you decide to change the style for a while. And this becomes a real revelation.

You remove your gel polish and discover that

a) It’s not that easy after all!

b) Your nails have become weak and brittle.

If you have been taking care of your nails on your own or just thinking of starting there are a couple of tips at the end of this article.

2. Skin Struggles

A Manicure is not just about the nails. Cuticle and hangnails often require professional care. And we all know that the most enjoyable manicure is always concluded with a hand massage, which you can’t do to yourself ☹

3. Nail Art and Polish choice

Are you sticking to one color manicure? Tired of putting this beige coat every week or two and see it chip off your nails. Tried to draw a flower and erased it thousand times? There are other alternatives!

Our Solutions

Manifix is a swiss brand that offers an easy solution to homemade manicure and pedicure. You don’t need any special skills or thousands of different colours of nail polish that you’ll use one time before they get thick, sticky and you throw them away. Manifix is:

  1. Easy to apply. Buy affordable nail foils of your preferred color at manifix.ch stick them to your nails, shape and apply a top coat – done! Or use their gel strips (require a UV lamp) and wear your manicure even longer.
  2. Durable. You can wear the foil for minimum 10 days and the gel strips for up to 4 weeks!
  3. Healthy & Vegan. All manifix nail products are completely vegan. They are much easier to apply and take off than the normal nail polish and, therefore, do not harm your nails. Due to the fact that the nail foil and strips are lighter than a two-layer nail polish, your nails do not experience that much pressure and stay stronger.
  4. Color variety. Bright Yellow or Pink Marble, Black or Nude. Choose your color and wear it for as long as you want. No commitment!

Manifix is a great solution for easy and fast “nails only” manicure. It is like a makeup that you put over your tired eyes to look fresh and stylish. But what about those tired eyes?

Doing your own manicure is cheap and fast but you often forget some vital parts of the procedure. Taking care of the cuticles, cutting the hangnails or softening the skin with a cream are all part of a classic manicure done by a professional. This is why it can be important to supplement your manifix nail polish with a once-a-month visit to a manicurist.

At Glow Concierge you can order the professional manicure to your home! Moreover, our treatments can be combined together so that in the end you get this incredible spa day feeling. Enjoy a relaxing shoulder massage while your nails are getting dry or combine it with a facial. WE COME TO YOU

If you still have doubts about doing your own manicure our provider Laura works with manifix products as well. You can book her classical manicure in a combination with Manifix nail foil/UV strips application and see how it works for you.

MAKING THE SWITCH TO NATURAL HAIRCARE? 5 THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW FIRST

By | Beauty, Fashion, Food for thought, Health | No Comments

As the founder of nul, a no-nonsense natural personal care brand, I speak with many clients who want to make the switch to more natural products.

For a good reason, too! At their best, natural products:

  • Are more environmentally friendly
  • Don’t use potentially harmful chemicals
  • Nourish your skin and hair with many beneficial plant extracts
  • Often have plastic-free packaging

However, there are also some things to be aware of when making the switch. Here are the top 5 things you should know before making the switch to natural haircare.

1.    Is it really natural?

Natural beauty is a hot trend right now, and with this comes greenwashing. Many brands claim they have 100% naturally-derived products, but it’s not the case when you look closer.

Take one of the most common ingredients for shampoo bars: sodium cocoyl isethionate (SCI). While it may be derived from plant oils, it’s not a natural product. The process to make SCI requires harmful chemicals, which are also used in processing crude oil.

The easiest way to know if a product is really natural is to look out for a COSMOS certification from BDiH, EcoCert, or Natrue.

However, many small producers can’t afford the certification. So if you’re looking to buy from an indie brand, ask them if their products comply with the COSMOS-standard.

2.    No more silicones

Natural products don’t contain silicones because they don’t biodegrade in the environment. Products containing silicones coat your hair and skin with a thin layer of plastic. This can make it feel great: smooth, soft, strong and “repaired”. This is why silicones are found everywhere in the beauty industry.

However, although your hair and skin might feel great, silicones aren’t doing you any favours. It can build up on your scalp and strands, making it look greasy and heavy. If you don’t use a clarifying shampoo regularly, it can also coat the strands so well that it doesn’t allow any hydration to penetrate your strands, drying them out over time.

Despite this, people find it hard to leave silicones behind as they are so used to their effect. When making the switch to natural products, be aware that there will be an adjustment period where you get accustomed to seeing your hair in its natural state and not covered in plastic.

3.    It’s not safe just because it’s natural

There is the perception that natural automatically means its safe. This couldn’t be farther from the truth. I look on in horror when I see people coat their skin in (or even drink!) undiluted essential oils – it’s a recipe for an allergic reaction.

Nature is amazing and it’s capable of producing a lot of powerful ingredients and compounds. When not used with consideration, these compounds can be harmful. It’s, for this reason, there are strict rules about the use of essential oils and plant extracts in products. In general, most oils are safe at a 1% usage ratio. All commercial products will follow these rules, but you may run into problems with some indie beauty brands. To be on the safe side, ask them if a certified chemist has approved their products. This is a legal requirement in Switzerland and Europe, and all reputable brands get their products certified.

And please, never use undiluted essential oil no matter what anyone tells you!

4.    pH is important

Any product containing water or mixed with water has a pH level. This includes shampoo, soap, conditioner (even in bar form), and most styling products.

The pH level of your skin is typically around 5.5, and the pH of your hair can be as low as 3.5.

pH levels are particularly important for hair as it’s not a living organism. It’s made up of “dead” cells. While your skin can be exposed to a range of pH levels and recover it’s natural pH level quite easily, your hair cannot regulate its pH levels.

As your hair is acidic, if you expose it to something alkaline (like soap) the cuticles on your hair can raise – allowing moisture (and color if you have color-treated hair) to escape and giving your hair a rough and dry appearance.

A good shampoo and conditioner will have an acidic pH between 5.5 and 4.5. This acidity seals the cuticle, trapping moisture and color and giving your hair a shiny appearance.

As a general rule, don’t use soap on your hair. If you absolutely must, ensure you rinse it with diluted vinegar afterwards to re-seal the cuticle.

But what I really recommend is finding a pH-balanced shampoo and conditioner instead.

5.    Less can be more, but not always

There is a perception with natural products that the shorter the ingredients list, the better. Many commercial products are unnecessarily complicated, and the long ingredients list can hide many harmful chemicals.

However, there are many wonderful natural active ingredients out there that can greatly improve your hair’s health and appearance. And it would be a shame to miss out on them just for a shorter ingredients list.

Instead of just looking at the length of the ingredients list, look at why each ingredient is there. With increasing consumer mistrust, more and more ethical brands are disclosing why they use each ingredient. At nul, we even have a page for each ingredient that explains why we use it, where it comes from, whether it’s vegan, and how it scores on the environmental working group scale.

Making the switch to natural hair care is not always easy, but it’s worth it for you and our planet’s long-term health. I hope this post makes it easier to switch in the right way.

Thanks for reading, and please reach out if you have any questions.

And if you want to try a shampoo that’s truly natural, silicone-free, safe, pH-balanced and contains active ingredients, check out our range of shampoo bars.

PRODUCTS I CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT

By | Beauty, Fashion, Home | No Comments

Since starting Glow Concierge I have focused a little more on looking after my skin! I am never going to be someone that wears full make up and has flawless hair every day…as much as I’ve tried, but as I’ve got older I have realised that looking after my skin is a necessity! As much as I’d love a facial with Andrei every week…or every day, these are slightly more realistic options! I do try and have a facial once a month as a bit of a treat though!

I have put together a list of the beauty products that I absolutely love, they are my go to products for every day.

  1. Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant – a super fine exfoliant that can be used every day without being too harsh on your skin. I use this alongside Dermalogica Pre Cleanser and Special Cleansing Gel. Ever since Laura introduced me to this brand (she is working mostly with their products), I fell in love. These products are not too expensive and they don’t test on animals. Their packaging is 90% recycled too and almost all of the products are classified as vegan.
  2. Boots UK Day & Night Cream – an old favourite that I’ve used for 20 years. I have to pick it up in England, I haven’t discovered anywhere in Switzerland that sells it. It’s such a good price for an amazing product.
  3. L’Oreal Paris Purple Shampoo – I have tried so so many and this one is hands down the best.
  4. Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream – literally transforms your skin, such a great product.
  5. Bobbi Brown BB Cream – the only makeup I wear…unless Aleksandra is doing it for me!
  6. Sunday Rain Body Scrub – I love all their products, it’s my favourite brand for bath products. All cruelty free and vegan and I love the packaging, simple and looks pretty!
  7. La Prairie Skin Caviar – I bought this as a birthday present years ago and was converted! It’s probably the only really expensive product that I use, I love the ritual of applying it, they have other versions which are simpler but I really love this one with the little spoon.
  8. Aesop Exfolioating Hand Wash – I am obsessed with this, in this day and age when you’re washing your hands 100 times a day, a good soap is a must. I love the exfoliant in this, I end up washing my hands for so long while I scrub away at the back of my hands!
  9. Bio Oil Dry Skin Gel – I have the driest skin, especially in winter, I started using this when I was pregnant when I got through so so much of it…it seemed to work, zero stretch marks! Now I use it just the once a day instead of obsessively!

IS IT TIME FOR THE ROARING 20s 2.0

By | Beauty, Fashion, Food for thought, Party | No Comments

There’s a lot of speculation in the media about this magical “post pandemic” world that everybody has been looking forward to so much. The question is: what will it look like? Will we stay forever cautious of close contact and social situations? Or will global society come back to “normal”? Some experts are even convinced that our world is about to enter a completely new unpredictable stage…

Social distancing, mask wearing, continuous disinfection of every surface – all these things have become a part of our everyday routine and are very likely to stay there. It is said that the world will never be as free as it was – individuals will take caution in talking with strangers, reconsider their lifestyles and be less likely to engage in “one-night-stands”.

However, there is also the completely opposite scenario in the media. In this case the Covid-19 pandemic is often compared to the Spanish Flu. After the world recovered from one of the deadliest pandemics, closing following on the shirt tails of one of the world’s deadliest conflicts,  a decade of consumerism, new music, fashion, freedom, glittering excesses and self gratification set in. The dawn of the Jazz Age. F. Scott Fitzgerald called it ‘the most expensive orgy in history’.

The roaring 20s, or an era of champagne, as it is sometimes called, was not only the time of crazy parties that we’ve read about in The Beautiful & the Damned and The Great Gatsby but also of a new and constantly changing fashion.

What trends can we expect to see in 2021? The annus horribles that was 2020 is over. We need to embrace colour, glitter and all that is gold! Expect to see colour blocking, bold lips and dramatic eyes.

In times of hardship, sales of beauty products traditionally soar. This is particularly true for lipstick. A bold, bright lip can transform you! Channel your inner goddess with classic red, be it matte, glossy or glitter!

With masks and facial coverings being the norm these days, it’s only your eyes that can express you in public. Shimmery green, bold orange and hot pink are all set to be trends for 2021, just look at what the models at Tom Ford and Burberry were wearing!

Even though the pandemic is still not over, we can already see the longing of individuals for social events and new activities. A good example is the Chinese Spring Festival, which is held every year and is famous as a time for major movie premiers and shopping. Even though the places in the theaters were limited to 50% capacity all the tickets for this week were sold out! The supermarkets have experienced a flow of great number of customers despite the suggestion of the government to “stay home”. The ski resorts are full and people are desperate to get back to some form of normality.

As people return to the work place, so will they return to after work drinks and dinners and dancing.

We at Glow Concierge are hoping that the prediction of a roaring 20s part 2 will come true and very soon all of us will be able to have the time of our lives. Until then, we would recommend you to enjoy this time at home: take a bath, order a massage, read a book, have a fitness session in your garden. Our providers are always here to pamper you whenever you feel the urge for some self care.

WHICH FACIAL IS BEST FOR YOU?

By | Beauty, Health, Massage | No Comments

Winter, continuous mask-wearing, junk food… A lengthy list can be made of all the factors influencing the health of your skin. This is still not an excuse to “not give a damn” about it. And while you working on your habits and perfecting your skincare routine is the main part of the treatment, facials can also help a lot.

Let’s be honest, who doesn’t enjoy a nice face massage, your cosmetologist applying yet another aromatic mask or this feeling of glowing skin after the treatment. Sounds great in theory, but how to get there? Which facial to choose?

Unfortunately, there is no single solution for everybody. Facials are usually chosen based on the current requirement of your skin. Thus, we decided to sort them by skin types.

(If you are unsure about your skin type, the right master will always know what to do)

Oily skin

Facial massage with extremely oily and creamy masks is not recommended for those with oily skin. This type usually requires deep cleansing and masks reducing the pores.

Our tip. Andrei has a number of facials designed for oily skin and inflamed skin. The Acne Skin Facial deeply cleanses the pores without stripping the hydrolipidic film away. It has a strong anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effect and keeps the hydration at an optimal level (plus you get a short massage as a bonus while waiting for your mask to work)

Dry skin

This skin type needs a treatment opposite to the previous one. The aim of the facial here would be to enrich the skin with vitamins and minerals and regenerate the tissues, urging them to work.

Our tip. Vitamin C or Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy are both meant for all skin types, but will definitely benefit those with dry skin. While the former stimulates the production of collagen fibres and protects the cells from free radicals, the latter is famous for its extreme hydrating effect.

Aging skin

Over time our skin can start loosing collagen, which is responsible for keeping it lifted. The oil glands and organs responsible for skin cell reproduction can also become less active.

Weekly scrubbing, face massage, moisture-rich masks and retinoid-based creams are recommended to keep the skin in shape and help it with its functions.

Our tip. Eleftheria makes the best rejuvance facial, also known as “The Fingertip Facelift”. Deep massage of the facial tissues is a great non-invasive treatment to encourage the natural functions of the body to regain their vitality.

Next step – Microneedling

Microneedling is a more intensive facial treatment that also enables highly effective ingredients to be infiltrated into the skin effectively. The skin naturally forms a protective layer on the surface against environmental influences. This layer makes it difficult for active ingredients to penetrate deep into the skin. With the help of sterile disposable needles, this procedure perforates the skin, in order to introduce the active ingredients into the skin exactly where they can be best used. The ingredients can be always chosen to your skin type. This is the perfect treatment to deal with wrinkles, black spots or dry skin.

Our tip. Check our Instagram page to see the results of microneedling with Monique! You will be surprised. A single treatment includes: cleaning, enzyme peeling, disinfection, needling with active ingredients (tailored to the respective skin treatment type), bio-cellulose aquaxyl mask, final care including sun protection.

Facial or microneedling – treat yourself, your skin deserves it! At Glowconcierge we have more than 6 masters ready to tailor their facial treatments to your needs. We come to you ♡

GUA SHA︱STORY AND HEALTH BENEFITS

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

What it is

These days Gua Sha is a highly discussed massage technique that every beauty blogger is incorporating in her/his morning routine.  This practice has been discussed in various journals around the world starting from Vogue to MedicalNewsToday, where it had both, its lovers and its haters. But let’s start with the basics, what is gua sha and where does it come from?

Gua Sha – often translated as “scraping” in English – is an ancient technique from East Asia. It is often advertised today as part of the daily routine of every Asian princess to improve her skin quality and look flawless. Apparently, this story was created to increase sales volumes of the fancy-looking gua sha tools. In reality, this method was first used on exhausted workers and struggling from heat individuals to improve their blood circulation and relieve the symptoms by applying high pressure on selected regions of their body.

Which materials to use

Such materials as coins, spoons or even animal bones were used in the past, as they help to massage the deeper skin layers. Nowadays, if you search for gua sha tools you will most likely find bian stone, jade or rose quartz rollers and scrapers. These materials are said to carry healing energies. Experts recommend using the rose quartz ones during the morning and the jade in the evening due to their different energies and influence on the body.

Doctor’s opinion

Nyla Raja, aesthetic doctor and founder of the U.K.-based aesthetics and medispa clinic called Dr. Nyla Raja questions the extent to which gua sha can improve the elastin production in the skin and reduce wrinkles.

“Using a jade gua sha tool at home essentially gives your face a mini workout ― you are stimulating blood circulation, which increases the amount of oxygen and nutrients to the skin, which can improve skin health,”  – Raja says.

However, the doctor believes that gua sha is unlikely to reach the deeper layer of the skin and lead to all of the expected benefits.

How to choose a perfect tool

  • It should feel heavy in your hand.
  • If you are looking to buy a jade tool – make sure that it is cold (only authentic stone will have this quality).
  • Follow your intuition. Feel the connection with the stone you are holding.

How to perform gua sha massage on your face and neck

  1. Apply some oil or cream on the areas you are about to massage
  2. Position the top corner (ridge side down) of the gua sha tool under your eye and move it towards your ear. Then bring it up and follow the eyebrow line in the same direction. Repeat the movement at least 8 times.
  3. Work your way down, massaging the cheekbone and the jawline with the same movements from the center of your face to the ear.
  4. Apply the tool starting from your chin along the jawline and, once you’ve reached the ear go down along the neck. Repeat.
  5. Once you’re done with step 4, stay at the neck and start moving roller up from your collarbone to your jaw.

You can either do every step twice for both sides of your face or finish with one side and start with the other. At all times make sure that you’ve got enough oil on your face and neck to avoid any irritation and unpleasant feelings.

Gua Sha is not recommended to people who

  • have medical conditions affecting the skin or veins
  • bleed easily
  • are pregnant
  • take medication to thin their blood
  • have deep vein thrombosis
  • have an infection, tumor, or wound that has not healed fully
  • have implants

Many experts warn that gua sha is not the one and only tool to improve your skin quality. Our appearance is the manifestation of the inner health and balance. The right diet, skincare products, exercise routine and inner balance can all equally contribute to your well-being and skin appearance.

We at Glow Concierge strive to improve the lives of our clients. That is why every Saturday we search for tips, like this one, to help you find your perfect tools to a greater health. We are convinced that if you start performing this massage along with facials and microneedling with our providers, you will get the perfect glowing skin in weeks.
